Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for busy professionals navigating work and/or personal stress.
Giving you the tools to repair your mental wellbeing, so you can live life to the fullest and perform at your best.
My name is Dr Paul Young, and as an accredited cognitive behavioural therapist (MNCPS Acc.), I have expertise in helping people who are experiencing difficulty with anxiety, low mood and stress, as well as issues with self-criticism, low confidence and self-esteem.
I also help people overcome problems with perfectionism, ‘imposter syndrome’, decision making, assertiveness, procrastination and navigating career change uncertainty.
I am a sessional therapist at The Priory Hospital Roehampton, where I work with individuals and groups in-person. In my private practice I work with adults only (over 18), and currently practice online (Zoom or Teams).
Because of my personal, clinical and research experience, I often work with people who are balancing busy professional and personal lives. Prior to retraining in psychology and mental health, I spent ten years working in the corporate world, including four years in London and New York with the global financial services firm BlackRock.
For my PhD thesis, I designed and delivered a novel psychological skills-based coaching programme for corporate executives which was linked with improvements in mental wellbeing, stress and resilience. The programme integrated mindfulness and rational-emotive cognitive behavioural therapy.
My style is warm, collaborative and friendly, recognising that seeking support and guidance for mental health and wellbeing can feel a bit overwhelming, particularly at first. I always make sure that a client’s goals are at the centre of the process, and work at a pace that suits my clients’ unique needs.
If you're experiencing challenges with your mental wellbeing and would value compassionate, evidence-based support at a pace that feels right for you, I would be delighted to help.
